The lovely mal beach
*Pls note: this is a very long n in detailed entry. For the nice-smelling, clean cat likes the therapeutic sound of typing to fall asleep to...
The other part of the epicurean in me is all about good food. I can't resist the lure of cheap and pretty shoes. So for the one sunday off that i got, me and j headed to across the causeway to shop for pretty shoes and cheap contact lenses to fully utilise my very rare off day. e shoppi and the teas was very much the same. I was not let down by the fact that the pair of pretties that i had my sight on wasn't available in my size for i got myslef a country girl turqoise top. I've not had anything i that colour for a very long time. 9 years to be precise for i was deeply distraught of having to put up with that and yellow for 4 years. It's also fot eh same reason that i dislike yellow and till date i haven't gotten anything in that. Still it took me little by little, from turqoise eye shadon to mascara and a puch then shoes and lastly clothes.
We were finally hungry and decided to go "look and try-out" this new place. Which j's friend highly recommended. Friend: "i drove past this place once and it look really nice and romantic. you can eat on top of trees by the beach. So u turn out from the causeway, keep left and drive on straight" so we were like ok.... We then embarked to the discovery trip fearless as we were armed with a full tank. After 3 unsuccessful u-turns we realise were back at where we started. we were unable to get to the right side of the "left side" of the bloody causeway. But hey, Eureka! i suddenly remember the map andy got for us on the last trip and whipped it out and started to find where we needed to head. To my utter horror. all the small roads we have covered were not shown. Maps form the popular mal chain acnnot be trusted. Many, many undrawn small lanes later, e general conclusion that we should head in that " keep turning right" conclusion. We actually came to the "correct side" of the causeway and finally started to keep left and "go straight" all the way..... Many, Many "Is the e place? i dun think so.... and it's not on top of the trees..." later. We arrived at the place called "Danga Bay" - pls mark this down for i shall never give directions without first informing the person the name of the place! ARgh.... or more like YEAH! finally!
It is a very nice and lovely place to eat with an amazingly huge huge carpark. Think pasar malam and amusement park and you've got it. BUT... thay do not have crabs..We had peking duck n Cod fish, very cheap and good. But not on top of the trees as we refused to eat in e silly "restoran". Satisfied with my happy tummy later we played "find the sg car game headed back to Sgp. Next trip, we'll bring andy :)
For this was a lovely trip though shoeless, dvd-less. But not something a generous cod fish can't make up for ;-)
